OBITUARY Ardyth M. Ostlin March 7, 1921 – October 7, 2018 “I see heaven! It’s beautiful and I want you all to come! ” As a small child, Ardyth Marie heard her Grandfather’s last words and promised she would join him there.

On October 7, 2018 at age 97 she kept that promise. She joined him, her parents Arthur and Mary Wagner, her brother Arthur Wagner Jr., her husband of 64 years Melvin Ostlin, three grandchildren and many friends in heaven with Jesus. Music was her gift and passion all her life.

By age 10 she played for revivals and church services. She attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas where she majored in piano and organ. She married a young minister, Melvin Ostlin, and played music wherever he pastored.

Together they raised 6 daughters. During 20 years in the Air Force Chaplaincy they lived in France, Alabama, the Philippines and Colorado. Their last place of service was St. Paul Lutheran Church in Calhan.

The special friendships they made there were a of joy and comfort to Ardyth after she was widowed in 2009. The family would like to thank them, the staff of Brookdale and hospice for the care given to Ardyth. Over her long life, Ardyth was a blessing to her family and community.

Her smiles far outnumbered her complaints and her love was stronger than her fears. Remaining are her 6 daughters: Sheryl Brickner, Linda Neeland (Roger), Melodie Ingwersen (Lowell), Candice Salazar (Emanuel), Michelle Prud’Homme (Bryan) and Teresa Nacio (Robert), 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, October 13th at 1:00pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Calhan, Co. Her beloved Pastor Tim Bettger officiating.
