Arlen G. Waters temporarily parted company with his eternal companion, Sherlaine Van Alfen. He passed away in Mesquite NV, on July 17, 2018. He married Sherlaine in the Provo, UT.

LDS Temple, June 3, 1993. Arlen was born to Carrel and Iva Waters on Feb. 18, 1938 in Mapleton, Utah.

He was a Fireman for Provo City for 28 years before retirement in 1991. He also did carpentry work. After retirement he worked for Ameritech Library Services.

He moved to Mesquite, NV in 2002. He served in the US Army National Guard 1959 to 1965, Headquarters Battery, 145th Artillery. Arlen was athletic and loved all sports, especially golf.

He climbed to the summit of Mr. Timpanogos many times. He wrote poetry and children’s books and loved to reminisce and tell jokes and stories. He was always active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in many positions in the wards & stakes and served six year in the Provo Temple before moving to Mesquite.

He previously married Judy Waters and was later divorced. He is survived by his children: Scott Waters, Provo, UT; Dana (David) Puddington, Ottawa, Canada; Kevin(Linda) Waters, Sandy, UT; Christopher Waters, Bountiful, UT; also his step-children: Roger (Jeanne) White, Roseville, CA; Pamela (James) Carpenter, Windsor, CA; Steven (Jan) White, Mesquite, NV. ; Michael (Shantel) White, Spanish Fork, UT; He is blessed with eight grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren and loved everyone in both families like they were all his own.

He is survived by two Sisters Marcile Pugh; Marva Davis. He was preceded in death by his daughter Carrie (Duane) Huffaker; two sisters, Raeona Waters and Thelma (Richard) Corey; brother Melvin (Colleen) Waters; brothers-in-law, Paul Pugh, and Keith Davis; step-grandson Brad White. Arlen was loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.

Funeral Services will be held in the LDS Stake Center, 345 E. 4525 N. Street, Provo, UT on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will take place after the services at East Lawn Memorial Hills, 4800 N. 680, Provo, UT 84601.
