Arnold Steve Boyles, 75, of Fallston Rd. , Lawndale, passed away Wednesday October 17, 2018 at Hospice at Wendover. He was born June 11, 1943 to the late Ralph A. Boyles and Christine Cook Boyles.

Steve earned his Eagle Scout award, graduated from Burns High School and received a BS Degree from Gardner-Webb University. Steve was a Certified Public Manager with the State of North Carolina and attended the National Institute of Corrections in Bolder, CO. He retired from the NC Department… Read More » of Correction, as a Correctional Administrator, where he served in eight different locations during his 34 years of service.

He was presented The Order of the Long Leaf Pine by the Governor of North Carolina. Steve attended Kadesh United Methodist Church. He loved being with his family, playing golf, riding his Harley, and especially those family vacations.

Steve married his high school sweetheart, Sylvia and they enjoyed 53 years together. He is survived by his sons, Chris Boyles of Belwood and Wade Boyles (Andrea Davenport) of Marion; sister, Ann Boyles Mahin and husband, Jim of Oregon; sister-in-law, Jo Ellen Strange of Columbus, GA; nieces, Amanda Strange Turner, Cindy Strange, Kristin Quail Mahin; nephew, Jason Mahin and special friend, Janet Alexander of Belwood. The visitation will be 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday at Kadesh United Methodist Church.

The funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday at Kadesh United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Elwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Kadesh United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Kadesh United Methodist Church, c/o Ellen Poston, 5500 Fallston Road, Lawndale, NC 28090 or to Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150.
