Art Downing, 76, of Prineville, OR, passed away December 9, 2018, at Partners In Care Hospice House in Bend, OR. No services are being planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in Art’s name to Partners In Care Hospice, 2075 NE Wyatt Ct.

, Bend, OR 97701. Arthur Franklin Downing was born June 21, 1942, in Long Beach, California, to Henry Willard and Fern Nancy (Weaver) Downing. Art loved the Pacific Ocean, and especially enjoyed spending hours at the beach.

He worked for years as a building superintendent in the retail construction industry. Art moved to the Prineville area in the early 2000’s. He also spent a lot of his time with his special friends in Vista, California.

Survivors include his children, Melynda Downing, La Center, WA, William and Wade Downing, Oregon, and Robin (Bret) Welborn, Pflugerville, TX; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence (Nettie) Downing, Prineville, OR; sisters, Judy Lesh, Springfield, OR and Deborah Downing-Waer, Battle Ground, WA, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are several special friends, Richard and Janet Wood, South Beach, OR, Cari Jo Brandberg-Strader, Redmond, OR, Sandra Wolfe, Vista, CA, Barbara Gaines, Oregon City, OR, Nick Cheek, Gresham, OR and Jimmy Schufeldt, Orlando, FL.
