Our devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and friend peacefully passed away on April 30, 2018. Arvey was born on May 11, 1931 in Cardston, Alberta to Wendell and Viola Wolsey. After moving to Ogden, Arvey met Bob Cox, and they quickly fell in love.

They were married on November 24, 1950 at the Bertha Eccles wedding center in Ogden, and sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 16, 1970. They spent 20 years in the Air Force together. Their four children were born in four different states; Lonnie was born in Utah (while Bob was in Korea), Linda in Colorado, Randy in California, and Doug in Idaho.

Bob, Arvey, Lonnie and Linda lived in England in the little town of Fakenham for three years. Arvey was loved by everyone who knew her, as she showed such love and concern for others. Her deep commitment to living the gospel was accompanied by decades of church service and ministering to those she knew.

She shared her beautiful voice in choir, and was a gifted poet and calligrapher. For years, she loved gathering her family each Saturday night for homemade pizza. She also enjoyed her time spent decorating for weddings.

In 1978, Bob and Arvey built their home in Peterson. They loved to snowmobile with their friends. Together, they served two six-month missions- Cove Fort in 2003 and the Heber Valley Girls Camp in 2005.

They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on Nov 24, 2017. Together, they were unified in love and service to others. Arvella is survived by their children Lonnie Cox, Linda Herman, Randy (Carrie) Cox, and Doug (Kim) Cox.

Arvey is the grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren who will remember her for her kindness and love to others. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Family Tree Assisted Living for their kind care during Arvey’s time there. They would also like to thank Comfort Worx hospice for their compassionate care.
