Arvilla’s Obituary Arvilla R. Buck, 79, of Bangor, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 5th, at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem, PA. Arvilla was born in Upper Mt. Bethel Twp, PA, on September 15, 1939, a daughter of the late Marshal S. and Matilda (Stocker) Handelong.

Arvilla was employed as a seamstress at various blouse mills in the slate belt area until retiring in the late 1980s and was a member of UNITE, the garment workers union. She enjoyed spending her time crocheting and making baby blankets. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bangor.

Arvilla is survived by two daughters, Susan Billman, wife of Mitch, of Nazareth, PA and Paula Bell, wife of Sonny, of Bangor, PA; a son, David Buck, husband of Sarajane, of Easton, PA. , 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, her former husband Dale Lee Buck of Lake City, FL. and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Dorothy Steele, and Verna Morris, and a great-grandson Michael Deckert III. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane ” Village of Johnsonville” Bangor, PA, with Rev. Larry Laine officiating.

Family and friends are invited to call 3 to 4 PM on Thursday, May 9th in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
