OBITUARY Athena P. Ivanoff October 11, 1930 – August 11, 2018 Play Tribute Movie ATHENA P. IVANOFF (nee Papaterpou), age 87, born October 11, 1930 (Nestorion, Greece), passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018. Beloved wife of the late John Ivan; loving mother of Dr. Chris Stavros Ivanoff (Lisa), and James Dimitar Ivanoff; grandmother of Athena Bass (Panagiotis), Ivan, and Sofiya; daughter of the late Christos and Eftihia Papaterpou; daughter in law of the late Krstyo and Ivana Ivanoff and sister in law Dilka (Lukovit, Bulgaria); sister of Vasilios Papaterpos (Patricia), Marika Paparizos (Zissis), and Mihalis Papaterpos (Ermioni); aunt of Lambros, Stella, Christos, Vasos and Kostas. She was a loyal and devoted wife and a wonderful mother and grandmother.

As the proud gatekeeper of the family, she rejoiced in her children and grandchildren and sacrificed all for their wellbeing and happiness. She loved to garden and was a fantastic cook. Her protective instincts and fighting spirit were invincible, encouraging all of us to confront life’s challenges with courage and boldness and inspiring us to be the best that we can be.

She will be dearly missed by all and will live on in our hearts with love and admiration forever. Funeral Service Wednesday, August 15, at 1:30pm in Annunciation Church, 2187 W14th St. Interment Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Holick Craciun Funeral Home, 23040 Center Ridge Rd.
