Obituary for Audrey T. Hall Audrey T. Hall, of Fort Washington, MD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the age of 85. She was born in Slater, IA, on September 17, 1932, to Evelyn [Thorson] and Ray Arnold Townsend. After 25 years of employment with the Department of the Navy, Audrey retired in 1997.

Retirement allowed her more time with her family; and “Memaw” really loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Audrey enjoyed going to the beach, especially at Fenwick Island, DE (Summertime Park). She was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins; and she supported and followed college basketball, local high school sports and the University of Mary Washington Athletics.

Audrey was the loving mother of Dana Sue Hall, Debra Ann Hall, Doreen Batts, Craig A. Hall (Nancy) and the late Michael Charles Hall. She was the devoted grandmother of seven grandchildren – Sherry Bove, Christina Smith, Steven Flippo, Taylor and T. J. Batts, Phillip and Eric Blush, and six great-grandchildren – Alexandra and Tori Bove, Madeline, Gwenyth, Patrick and Molly Smith. She was the sister of Donna Hoffman, Paul Townsend and the late Marilyn Vaughan.

Graveside services for family only, will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 3:30 pm at Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens, 3270 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD 20676. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Audrey’s name to the University of Mary Washington Athletics – Eagles Club, 1301 College Avenue, Fredericksburg, VA 22401 ~ or ~ North Point High School Track & Field Program, 2500 Davis Road, Waldorf, MD 20603.
