Obituary for Augustina Thomas-Siryon Augustina Thomas-Siryon, lovingly known as “Tina”, passed away on October 27, 2018 at Charlotte Medical Center-Mercy. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Arthur Thomas Sr. and Vera (Freeman) Thomas on October 12, 1954. Tina’s family migrated to Boston, Massachusetts at a young age and she was educated in the Boston Public School System.
Tina obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Economics from the University of Massachusetts Boston, an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from Northeastern University. Tina’s career focused on Information Technology (IT) and worked as a Help Desk Manager, IT Project Manager, and Infrastructure Project Manager at some of the country’s most reparable organizations; Bank of Boston, Computershare (formerly Equiserve and DST), TIAA, Time Warner Cable, and Wells Fargo. Tina resided in Taunton, Stoughton, and Brockton before migrating to the beautiful city of Charlotte, North Carolina (Queen City) in 2012 where she enjoyed the city’s rich culture, food, people, weather, and the ability to advance her career in IT Project Management.
Tina was known to be a strong, independent, caring individual who often enjoyed spending time with family, going to concerts, traveling, but most importantly spending time with her granddaughters, Jalynn Augustina and Jael Maudlyn. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her caring daughter, Alicia-Marie B. Siryon-Wells (William) of Brockton, MA. Her loving siblings: Gwendolyn Hickman (Kenny Sr.) of Randolph, MA; Marie Priestly (Royce) of San Antonio, TX; Arthur Thomas of Miami, FL; and Janice Thomas of Avon, MA.
Her precious granddaughters: Jalynn Augustina Siryon and Jael Maudlyn Wells of Brockton; along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Vera Thomas; her siblings, Brenda Thomas, the late James Thomas, and Arlecia Cooper (Joey); her daughter, Amiina J. Siryon Pfingstler (Jude). Visitation will be held at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 24 Pleasant Street, Brockton on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 10am-11am.
A Homegoing service will take place at 11am with the Burial at Forest Hills Cemetery~Garden of Enduring Love. A Repast will take place at Mount Moriah Baptist Church at 3pm. Friends and Family are asked to wear the “Color Purple” in remembrance of Tina.
