Barbara Ann Conn passed away on January 4, 2019, at age 86. She was born September 3, 1932 in Goshen County, Wyoming to William and Mae Johnson. She was their youngest child.

She had four siblings: Mildred, Daisy, Georgia, and Bill. She married Richard (Dick) Conn, December 30, 1948 and started farming. Dick and Barbara moved to California with their first three children: William (Bill), Kathryn (Kathy) and Jennie in 1954.

Their fourth child Eugene (Mike) was born in Lancaster in 1957. Pursuing… Read More » employment, the family moved from Palmdale to San Jose and finally in 1962 to Santa Maria. Dick and Barbara were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

They were sealed in the temple on September 2, 1978. In, 1988, Barbara lost Dick, after sharing 39 years of marriage. Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

Her hobbies were sewing, quilting, and crocheting. Her family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of her many wonderful and loving friends and family who took the time to visit her and encourage her with kind words and beautiful gestures in the past few months, including the caregivers at Primrose Senior Living. Although her final weeks were spent in an assisted living facility, she was constantly surrounded by friends and family, who filled the space with warmth and love.

Barbara is survived by her four children and their spouses, Bill and Deborah Conn, Kathy Bewley, Jennie and Mike Hay and Mike and Debra Conn; grandchildren, Danielle Conn, Shauna Conn, Julie Schaefer, Michelle Valencia, Steven Bewley II, Erin Békés, Brad Conn, and Jessica Bewley; great grandchildren: Nikolas Schaefer, Noah Békés and Clara Békés. She poured her love, time and energy into her family and has left a legacy of her love and perseverance, along with many wonderful, heartwarming and cherished memories. In lieu of flowers, the family, asks donations be made to the Mission Hope Cancer Center, Santa Maria, CA.

(missionhopecancercenter.com) Public Viewing is scheduled for 9:am Friday January 11, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1219 Oak Knoll Rd, Santa Maria, CA 93455. Funeral Service will begin at 10:am with burial to follow at the Santa Maria Cemetery.
