Barbara Anne Alden, 70, of Paw Paw, MI, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo. She was born on November 19, 1948 in Paw Paw to the late Kenneth B. and Evelyn A.(VanDerRoest ) Alden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim VanWyk in 2017.

She is survived by her sister, Jackie Alden, brother, Jim (Barb) Alden; sister, Bobbi (John) Crosby; three sons, Tim (Roxanne) VanWyk, Derek (Kelly ) VanWyk, Steven VanWyk; two grandchildren, Garrett VanWyk and Landyn VanWyk; nieces, Dorene (Charlie) Forrest, Cris (DJ) Richmond, Alison (Tony) Cirino and Natalie Alden, along with many great nieces and great nephews. Barb was preceded in death by her nephew Kenneth Ripley. Cremation has taken place.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 8, 2019, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Almena United Methodist Church where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Donna Keyte officiating. There will be a luncheon following in the church hall. Barb retired from Coca-Cola in Paw Paw after many years of service.

She was a longtime active member of Almena United Methodist Church where she was treasurer and in the church choir. She enjoyed playing tennis and softball and she loved the Detroit Tigers. Barb was a graduate from KVCC where she furthered her education.
