OBITUARY Barbara Craig Ross February 6, 1937 – July 18, 2018 In lieu of flowers please consider making a memorial contribution in Barbara C. Ross’s honor to the following organization listed below. Barbara Craig Ross, 81, of Plano, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 18, 2018. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was born on February 6, 1937, to Aubrey and Julia Craig in Decatur, AL. Barbara met her lifelong sweetheart while she was attending Heath High School in Paducah, KY and her future husband, Robert Charlton Ross, was playing basketball for cross-town rival, Lone Oak High School. While she earned her nurse’s training degree from the University of Louisville (Louisville General Hospital), Bob graduated from Georgetown College with them being married in 1958.

Barbara and Bob moved to Israel the following year as missionaries for the Israeli Baptist Mission and began their lifelong passion for the land of Israel. In addition to mission work in Israel, Barbara and Bob ministered in East Europe, Cuba and Mexico while supporting missions in several other countries around the globe. Barbara worked as a nurse in hospitals and private home settings for 40 years in addition to supporting Bob in his pastorates in Slidell, Wichita Falls, Waco, Hobbs and Plano.

In addition, she also cared for babies in the church nursery, special needs children at various camps and anyone else in need whom God put in her path. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey Lewis Craig and Julia Esther Craig. She is survived by her husband, Robert Charlton Ross, her sons, Randall Charlton Ross (and his wife LuAnne) and Michael Craig Ross (and his wife Barbara), and her daughter, Terri Ross Pope (and her husband Brent) and Sherri Ross Rapp (and her husband Paul).

In addition she had 11 grandchildren, Ryan Ross, Lindsay Ross, Colton Ross, Jonathan Brown, Audrey Ross, Austin Ross, Jamin Pope, Caden Pope, Holden Pope, Aubrey Pope and Naomi Rapp. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Prairie Creek Baptist Church in Plano, Texas immediately followed by the 3 p.m. funeral service at Prairie Creek.
