Obituary for Barbara Evelyn Calvi ORRINGTON – Barbara Evelyn (Smith) Calvi, 83, passed away on January 8, 2019 after a short illness. She was born on February 25, 1935 on Verona Island, the daughter of Emily and Oscar Smith, one of 13 children. She lived in Lucerne, Maine while raising her 4 children.

She loved to cook, bake and spending time fishing with her family. She is survived by her son, Donn Calvi and wife, Marie of Rochester, NH; grandchildren, Ben Kelleher and wife, Ashley of Winterport, and Matthew Sibley of Brewer, Margo Calvi, James Calvi, Michael Calvi, all of North Carolina; two great-granddaughters, Madison Sibley, and Abigail Kelleher; and two great-grandsons, Chase, and Caleb Calvi; her only living sister, Emily Benson of Holden, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Calvi; daughters, April Calvi, and Debbie Calvi, both of Maine; and son, Marc Calvi of North Carolina.

Per Barbara’s request, there will be no service. Those who wish to remember Barbara in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 383 U.S. Route 1, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
