OBITUARY Barbara Fields May 25, 1933 – September 21, 2018 Barbara Charlene (Bobbie) Baras Fields passed away peacefully on September 21, 2018 in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Bobbie was born on May 25, 1933 to Sylvia and Abe Baras. Raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Bobbie attended college at the University of Texas for one year, where she was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority.

After joining her parents in Houston, Bobbie met the love of her life, Leo Fields. Bobbie and Leo married on November 1, 1953. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where their first daughter, Sheryl, was born, then Seattle, Washington, followed by New Orleans, Louisiana, where their second daughter, Amy, was born.

After Amy’s birth, the family relocated to Dallas, where their son, David, was born. A devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Bobbie was also a committed friend who saw the goodness in everyone she met. She was always kind in her thoughts, words and deeds, making all who entered her life feel welcomed and loved.

By her example, she leaves a legacy of warmth, sweetness, optimism and good humor. Bobbie was predeceased by her parents, Sylvia and Abe Baras; her infant son, William Bennett Fields; and her granddaughter, Jennifer Beth Falik. She is survived by her children, Sheryl Bogen (Gordon), Amy Rosenberg (Wade), and David Fields (Julie); her grandchildren, Emily Falik, Matthew Rosenberg (Jesse), Ethan Rosenberg (Antoinette), Betsy Rosenberg Riley (Teddy), Elizabeth Asen (Josh), and Andrew Fields; and her step-grandchildren, Joseph Bogen (Alexis Angell) and Caleb Bogen.

She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Lawson and Amara Rosenberg, sister Margie Snetman, sister-in-law Marilyn Gray and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends. Bobbie’s family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Ann Harris, Carolyn Wheat, Bobbie’s wonderful doctors and the compassionate and professional nurses at Baylor Hospital and Bobbie’s loving caregivers. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 25th at 12:00pm in the Stern Chapel at Temple Emanu-El, 8500 Hillcrest Road, followed by a luncheon in Tobian Auditorium.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you memorialize Bobbie with a gift to Temple Emanu-El, Jewish Family Services, Dallas Furniture Bank or the charity of your choice.
