Barbara Jean Leeper, January 09, 1940 — June 14, 2018

Obituary for Barbara Jean Leeper Longtime Meeker resident, Barbara Jean Leeper, died Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Pioneers Medical Center in Meeker, Colorado. She was 78. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Grant Mortuary in Meeker.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018, at The Church at Meeker. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Barbara (Bobbie) Jean Leeper was born on January 9, 1940 in Schenectady, NY to Ervin & Lorraine Norton.

At a yearly age, they moved to Denver, Colorado where her younger brother David was born. She graduated from the Denver School system in 1958 and married her first husband Raymond C. Joos to which they had three children: Michael Joos of Castle Pines, Teri Dailey of Colorado Springs & Glen Joos of Brighton, CO. She lived in the North Denver area where she was an Administrative Secretary & Bookkeeper.

In 1994, she married her 2nd husband, Ronald D. Leeper. In 1998, they moved to Meeker, CO where she enjoyed living at their ranch home and caring for their horses. She enjoyed her “John Wayne” movies, watching NASCAR and all of the old TV Shows.

She was adored by her family and survived by her three children, eight grandchildren, Kristen (Arron Grafft) Houser of San Antonio, TX, Kimmy (Guillermo), Madrigal of Shelley, ID, Stephen (Chanda) Dailey of Colorado Springs, CO, Daniel (Megan Sheffield) Joos of La Junta, CO, Joshua Dailey of Denver, CO, Stacy Lorraine (Georgios Theocharis) Joos, Hannah Dailey of Denver, CO, Stephany (Josh) Varland of Meeker, CO. She also has five great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her grandparents (Mom & Pop), her parents, her first husband, her brother, her second husband and her great-grandson Matthew Reese Dailey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to ASCPA or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital both in care of Grant Mortuary, P.O. Box 333, Meeker, CO 81641.
