Barbara Joanne Jodon Daugherty, formerly of Knox, passed away late Sunday evening, December 2, 2018 at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville, following an extended period of declining health. Born June 18, 1936 in Day City, Clarion County, she was a daughter of the late Bruce and Bessie Bessetti Jodon. Barb was a graduate of Clarion-Limestone High School.

On September 17, 1955, she married Howard LeRoy Daugherty and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1997 after 42 years of marriage. Barb was a homemaker and a very devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. She had a caring and loving heart, always giving to others and a strong conviction to her faith in God.

Barb cherished the time she spent with her family, her friends and her church. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children and their spouses: Steve Daugherty (Libby) of Shippenville; Sheila Knight (Bruce) of Wellsburg, New York and Shawn Daugherty (Belinda) of Windsor, Virginia; her grandchildren: Amanda Blair (Brian) and Alissa Braun (Nate) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Bruce Daugherty (Billie) of Beachwood, Ohio; Tesha Daugherty of Wellsburg, New York and Jaylen Daugherty of Windsor, Virginia and great grandchildren, Peyton, Paige, Levi and Perrin.

Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Bill Jodon (Eileen) of Harborcreek; her sister, Debbie Chardeen (Phil) of Wesleyville; her brother-in-law, Ron Truitt of Reynoldsville and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Barb was preceded in death by her older sister, Janet Truitt. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.

Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the Fisher Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Fisher, Clarion County. Barb’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses, aides, doctors and volunteers at the McKinley Health Center for their exceptional care, hugs and kisses that she received while a resident there since 2013.
