Barbara Gayle Stivers was born on August 7, 1944 at her grandfather’s home located in the Gabe community of Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on December 1, 2018 at the Park Louisville Senior Star Assisted Living home in Louisville. She was a Baptist by faith and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald C. Stivers, her parents Loren Mc Cubbins and Lottie Milby McCubbins, brothers James Herbert McCubbins and Wendell Loren McCubbins, and sister Sheila Kay Hollenbeck.

She is survived by her loving children William O. Bell Jr (Linda) of Crestwood, KY, Jeffrey A. Bell (Pam) of Simpsonville, KY, Eric C. Stivers (Brandy) of Sellersburg, IN, Constance Bright, James Daniel Stivers (Lisa), and Donald James Stivers (Doris), all of Louisville, KY, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sisters Mary Jane Bowers (Ralph), Carlotta Nunn, brother Loren McCubbins Jr (Evanna) and brother-in-law Thomas Hollenbeck. Barbara worked from 1971 – 1984 at Phillip Morris Inc. and then worked side by side with her husband at the family business D&B Safety Corporation. After Don’s untimely death in 1996, she took over as President until she sold the business in 2003.
