They were married on September 22, 1962 after Thomas returned from service in the U.S. Marine Corps. After two years in Buffalo they moved to Akron, New York to start their family. Barbara loved books.

Beginning a new chapter in her life Barbara moved to North Dakota, to live with her daughter Donna, and son-in-law Greg and her grandchildren Brittny and Stephan, and two great grandchildren Piper and Buckley. Barbara was always the loving grandmother helping Brittny with Girl Scouts, and following Stephan’s Football and Hockey career throughout his school years.
Barbara never missed any activity that her grandchildren were part of throughout the years. Barbara’s greatest joy came from being active with her two great grandchildren. On a daily basis the phrase “LOVE YOU NANA!
