Obituary of Barbara Mae Mason Mrs. Barbara Mae Mason age 85, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in the Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a brief illness. She was born January 17, 1934 to the late W.S. (Bud) and Ollie Mae Cline of Batesville, MS. Mrs. Mason was a homemaker and retired from the Haywood County Property Assessor’s office, where she was fondly known as “Mama Mason” She enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Richard L. Mason, Jr., her brothers: Ed Cline, William Cline, David Cline, her sisters: Christine Tutor, Corrine Pegram and Thelma Smith. She is survived by three daughters: Becky (Tonja) Mason, Beech Bluff, TN, Pam (Ed) Thomason, Debbie (Charlie) Greenway and a son: Rick L. Mason, III, all of Brownsville, TN, her grandchildren: Crissy (Aaron) Carl, T.J. (Chiara) McCool, Matt Thomason and great grandchildren, Will Currie, Nick (Cherquala) McCool and Josh McCool. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 2, 2019, at 3 PM in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. A visitation for the Mason family will be Thursday, May 2, 2019, 2 PM-3 PM in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Sharolett Osteen, Insouth Bank, P.O. Box 879, Brownsville, TN 38012.
