Mrs. Beatrice Johnson Shelton was born February 13, 1930 to the union of Mr. Wilson and Blonnie Miller Johnson. She attended school in Coffeeville, Mississippi. After moving to this community, she joined the Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev.

L.V. Powell and served joyfully until her health failed. She was known to her friends as “Mrs. B”. Beatrice was united in matrimony to Mr. James Otis Shelton.

She worked at the Mississippi Forestry for thirty-one (31) years. Preceding her in death were her mother and father, two (2) brothers, one (1) sister, and her husband. She left beautiful memories with two (2) sisters: Susie Johnson (Tommy) McLaurin of Jackson, MS and Mary Bernice Clark of Memphis, TN; 1 brother, Fred (Gwen) Johnson of Jackson, MS; 2 sisters-in-law: Mrs. Audrey Shelton Trivillion of Jackson, MS; 3 step-children, 7 God children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
