Obituary for Becky Tinnell Peterson Mary Rebecca (Becky Tinnell) Peterson was born Nov. 15, 1951 to Clair Wesley and Thelma Irene (Ridenour) Tinnell in Leon, Iowa. And passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston, Iowa at the age of 66 years.

Becky graduated from Clarke Community High School. She loved to read, make greeting cards, watching good movies, roller-skating, got award when she was 50. Becky wrote and published herself 10 short stories.

Becky loved her family, grandson Landon, friends, and neighbors. She loved to sit outside with coffee in the morning to watch nature, birds, squirrels, and kittens. She loved music and flowers, she said she wanted to enjoy them in life instead of having them at death.

Becky felt alone in crowd yet knew God was with her. She liked the simple things in life. Becky worked at the hospital in Osceola from 1969-1979.

She worked with Clarke Co. Home Care and Clarke Co. Public Health until Sept 2010 when she quit to take care of her 90 year old mother, Thelma. Becky Married Pete Peterson on Nov. 15, 1979.

In 1995 Pete had a stroke and she took care of him until he passed away in Feb. 2000. They had two children, Scott and Kate.

In 2005 Becky met her partner for life and best friend, Richard Headrick. Becky found out she had cancer in August 2016. She kept a positive attitude.

On days she didn’t feel good she’d dig a little deeper because she found there’s good in every day. She felt life slip away but faith brought it back. Becky believed time to let people know you care is when you can tell and show them that you do.

Be content with what you have as God gives what we need. Becky is survived by her 2 children Scott Peterson (Ashley Mestrovich) of Van Wert, IA and Kate Peterson of DesMoines. Richard Headrick, stepson, Charles Peterson (Kathleen) of Xenia, Ohio, stepdaughter Delores Williams (Boyce) of Boone, IA, stepson Ricky Headrick of Osceola, IA, stepdaughter Melinda Headrick of Missouri; grandchildren, Michelle and Michael Peterson, Todd and Terry Williams, and Landon Schmieder.

She took care of Landon for 1 1/2 years. Preceding her in death was her husband, Pete, father and mother Clair and Thelma Tinnell, partner and best friend for life, Richard Headrick, sister in law Janiece Tinnell, mother and father in law Jim and Karma Headrick, step grandsons Todd and Terry Williams. Memorial contributions may be directed to her family.
