Belva L. Howard, 90, formerly of Palmyra passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Hill Farm Estate, Annville. Born January 15, 1928 in Steelton, she was a daughter of the late Chester E. and Geneva G. (Nusser) Reed. She was the widow of Jacob H. Howard since 1970 and was also preceded in death by sisters Barbara Cassel and Carole Reed.

Self-employed in apartment rentals, she was a member of Hershey Free Church where she taught children’s Sunday School and went on numerous mission trips to Russia. Belva was an artist and a boot skootin’ line dancer. Surviving are her children Barbara C. Rauch (John) of Harrisburg, Kathy M. Surace (Anthony) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Daniel S. Howard (Carol) of Irvine, California, Eugene J. Howard (Patricia) of Harrisburg, and Cynthia J. Yanoscsik (Stephen) of Palmyra; siblings Chester E. “Sonny” Reed, Jr., (Donna) of Vero Beach, Florida and Betty C. Cromwell of Annville; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra, preceded by a visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Private interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice For All Seasons, 280 South Hill Drive, Grantville, PA 17028 or Hill Farm Estate, 200 Kauffman Road, Annville, PA 17003.
