OBITUARY Benito Sendejar Jr. March 14, 1934 – November 26, 2018 Benito Sendejar, Jr., 84, of Corpus Christi, TX, passed away November 26, 2018. He was born in Benavides, Texas on March 14, 1934. Benito Sendejar, Jr. graduated from Benavides High School Class of ‘1953 and received his Associates from Del Mar College.

He was married to Maria Irma Sendejar on October 7, 1960. He worked for the Corpus Christi Fire Department for 26 years. He was a member of the Works of Mercy for SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and had a passion for hunting, fishing, camping, wood working and of course spending time with his precious family.

He is survived by his four children; Nora Verdin (Noel), Nola Guajardo (Nick), Landy Sendejar (Norma), John Sendejar (Milda); his grandchildren, Joshua Sendejar, Justin Sendejar, Jeffrey Sendejar, Jacob Sendejar, Geena Sendejar, Andie Sendejar Tester (David), Benjamin Guajardo, Nathan Verdin, Noelle Verdin; brother, Roel Sendejar, sister Alma Garza and numerous nieces and nephews. Benito is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Maria Irma Sendejar and his parents, Benito and Andrea Sendejar; he is also preceded in death by his infant sister, Sylvia and older brother, Ambroscio who died at a very young age. Benito was very proud of his hometown of Benavides, Texas.

He excelled in sports and FFA. He worked the oil fields and was Deputy Constable of Benavides in the late 1950’s. He joined the Corpus Christi Fire Department in 1966.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Berlin, Germany as a military policeman. The family would also like to thank the dedicated staff, nurses and CNA’s from the Palms Nursing Facility that were so dedicated to the care of our dad. Visitation will be held at St Phillips Catholic Church (3513 Cimarron Blvd) on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 1, 2018 with Entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www. memorygardensfuneralhome.com.
