Newmarket – Benjamin Venuto Carignan, 41, of Newmarket, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Exeter Hospital after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband, son, brother and friend, Ben went to be in the arms of Jesus with his wife and mother by his side. Ben was born on March 22, 1978 in Milton, NH, a son of Patricia (Browne) Sherwood of Somersworth and the late John Omer Carignan.

He shared nearly 16 years of marriage with his wife, Stephanie Anderson Carignan of Newmarket. He was raised in Somersworth and Farmington and graduated from Farmington High with the Class of 1996. Ben worked in a trade he loved as a woodworker and craftsman.

He was truly an artist who always pushed himself to create something unique and beautiful, no matter the project. Ben enjoyed a beautiful, quiet life with his wife, Stephanie, and their two dogs, Millie and Brutus. They were all content to spend time at home together, enjoying a delicious homemade pizza on the weekend or eggs over easy in the morning.

Ben and Stephanie shared a strong faith, loving Jesus and living according to His teachings. Ben’s humility, kindness, and generosity made him a wonderful example of Christ. Everyone who met Ben agreed he was someone very special.

Family and friends may visit from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday, May 8th, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, May 9th, at the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 500 Banfield Road, Portsmouth, NH. Burial will be private.
