Bennie Max Jenks, 85, of Raleigh, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Atria Oakridge in Raleigh. Max was born in Wake County to the late Vandorse Jenks and Mamie Ethel Watkins Jenks. As a veteran of the United States Army and later used his GI Bill to receive a degree from NC State.

He retired as a Textile Engineer from Dupont after many years of service in the textile industry. Private services will be held at a later date. Mr. Jenks is survived by his daughters, Allison Jenks Hendricks of Greenville and Hope Jenks Knott & husband Robert of Clayton; grandchildren, Sydney, Cole & Jackson Hendricks and Cathy & Taylor Knott; sister, Sylvia Jenks Bigham & husband Kenny; brothers, Dempsey Jenks and Hubert Jenks & wife Polly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Miller Jenks and a sister, Margie Jenks. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen, North Carolina Triangle to the Coast, 600 Airport Blvd, Suite 100, Morrisville, NC 27560. A service of Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, Wake Forest, NC.
