OBITUARY Benny B. Ruth October 24, 1927 – December 28, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Benny Bob Ruth, 91, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:58 pm in Memorial Hermann Hospital, The Woodlands. He has gone on to rejoin his wife and our mother Ruth Virginia Ruth in a love that we know will last for eternity. Benny was born in Houston, Texas on Monday, October 24, 1927 to Charles L and Frona L Ruth and was welcomed home by his brother, Charles L Ruth Jr. His life would lead him to Dallas and eventually back to Houston, Texas where he would attend John H Reagan High School in the Houston Heights area.
This is where he first met the first and only love in his life, Ruth Smith. On graduation from high school Benny enlisted in the United States Army Air Force and served in both Europe and Africa as a Cryptographic Technician supporting communications for the Armed Forces at the end of World War II. On discharge and return to Houston he rekindled his relationship with Ruth and the two were married in Richmond, TX on Saturday, July 16, 1949.
He completed studies at University of Houston earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business as an Accountant. Benny has lived a life that could serve as a model for men everywhere. He was an honest man, wholly devoted to his wife and his family.
He was firm and steady in his beliefs. He loved his parents and was steadfast in caring for them throughout their lives. He also provide love and caring attention to Ruth’s parents all through their lives as well and they loved him profoundly.
He dearly loved his wife and that love endured for 68 years of marriage and many years before that. He was a model parent, always devoted to and interested in his children, their development and their lives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, his mother, Frona, his father Charles and his brother Charles Jr
He leaves behind a daughter Sharon Faseler and her husband Clyde, a daughter Laura Agee and her husband Ravi and a son Robert Ruth and his wife Carolyn. He also leaves grand-children Jonathan King and his wife Jessica, Kate Forbis and husband Jason, Kate Agee-Hunt and husband Matthew, Benjamin Ruth and wife Adlein, Justin Agee, Tim Ruth and wife Anna and Jason Ruth. They also enjoyed having twelve great-grandchidren.
Along with these were a number of nieces and nephews who he held dear to his heart. The family will welcome visitors at 5 pm Sunday, January 6, 2018 at Forest Park, The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, Texas 77384. Services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2018 at 11:00 am at Forest Park, The Woodlands Funeral Home with burial services to follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
