Berangere Bee Brisbois Obituary Photo

ALLENSTOWN- Berangere “Bee” Lefebvre began her life in Allenstown on December 10, 1920, the oldest of five children born to Angelina (Neveu) and Achille Lefebvre. She married the love of her life, Lionel Brisbois, on August 5, 1944, and left this earth on May 27, 2019 to join him in heaven. Bee lived in Allenstown her entire life until she required additional care and relocated to Presidential Oaks in 2015.

She was very proud of her French heritage and, even in her later years, would tell everyone the French pronunciation of her name when they asked. She attended St. Jean the Baptist Grammar School and spent one year at the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Montreal and later obtained her GED. In addition, she took a home course in textile and manufacturing, dealing with the formation of materials and fabrics, such as thread count.

Bee worked as a weaver for Theodore Furus & Son for several decades until the factory was destroyed by fire. She then decided it was time to pursue her passion and worked as a florist for Rufo’s in Concord and Flowers by Lu in Pembroke. Bee had an all-around love for flowers, from growing them, to smelling them and arranging them.

People would stop and admire her flower gardens. No one on earth could make a crepe like Bee! The perfectly cooked product would then be drizzled with maple frosting dumped on the crepe.

Her family has made many attempts at replicating but to no avail. The love she put in to them can simply not be duplicated. Berangere was predeceased by her husband, Lionel in 2003, her sister, Medora in 1989 and her brother, Doria in 2007.

Bee is survived by her loving daughter: Claire Hussey of Pembroke, and her three grandchildren that she adored and spent so many memorial “Memere hours” with, Seth (Diane Steenbeke) Hussey of Penacook, Taryn (Roderick) Davidson and Justin Hussey both of Pembroke. In addition, she is Memere to her dearly loved great grandchildren, Tyler, Brett, Alani, Connor, Brayden, Emma, Nolan, Mally, Roderick IV and Reed. She is also survived by her beloved younger sisters, Odelva Geddes of Franklin, MA and Blanche Proulx of Allenstown along with many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Presidential Oaks for caring for Bee the past few years and for being there to help her through to the end. A special thanks to the Visiting Nurse Association who reached out and provided comfort during these past few days. Her sister, Blanche and friends, Jane Gordon, Louise Letendre and Dianne Bambrick made it possible for her to stay in her home longer.

We’d also like to acknowledge Jane Teahan, the recreation director at Presidential Oaks for going above and beyond to arrange Bee’s 98th birthday celebration that created such a special, memorable day for her and her family. Calling Hours will be held on Monday, June 3rd from 9 to 10:30 A.M. in the Petit-Roan Funeral Home 167 Main St. in Pembroke. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown.

Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Everyone knows how much Bee loved flowers, especially roses. All are encouraged to bring a rose to the service to later be placed on her grave when you say goodbye.

Donations in Bee’s memory may be sent to Community Action Program-Meals on Wheels PO Box 1016, 2 Industrial Dr. Concord, NH 03302. This program of angels began providing meals when Lionel was ill and continued until Bee moved to Presidential Oaks. To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.
