Bernadette Veronica Hazzard, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 22, 2019, in Kent General Hospital. She was 67. Bernadette was born July 24, 1951, in Dover, DE to the late, Garrett & Naomi(Wiltbanks) Stevenson.

She had worked for over 25 years for Perdue Poultry Company in Milford, and had also been employed with both Genesis & Heritage in Milford for 10 years. Bernadette liked to sing , and was known as the Karaoke Queen. She also enjoyed cooking, and her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren .

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Tamela “T.T.” Caroll; and brothers, Wayne & Roy Stevenson. Bernadette is survived by her husband, Oliver “Buster” Hazzard; 4 children, Veronica “Ticey” Opare & husband, B., of Dover; Irvin E. Hazzard, of Maryland; Justin Tyler Hazzard & companion, Ashley Hastings, of Seaford; and Kendra R. Hazzard & companion, Jack Jones , of Dover. Her siblings, Shirlet Harris, Vera Harris & husband, Donald; Ramona Spruance & husband, Nathan; Victoria Stevenson, Gregory Stevenson & wife, Sandra; Wanetta Johnson & husband, William; and Mark Stevenson & wife, Shirley; 9 grandchildren, Joshua Waddler & wife, Kyla; Azim Malik Opare, Nhyira Opare, Taima Opare, Xzavion Hazzard, Janaz Hazzard, Mmarra Opare, Arrianna Hazzard, and Omari Jones; and her great-grandson, Jakai Waddler.
