Bernadine D. Scott, age 84, of Shelby, passed away April 24, 2018 at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart. She was born December 26, 1933 in Claybanks Township, the daughter of Joseph B. Eilers and Alice M. (Schiller) Eilers. Bernadine was raised in Claybanks Township.

She lived in Ohio for a short time before returning to Oceana County. She had been a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Claybanks, it’s Altar Society and also the Oceana Eagles Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, Bernadette (Delbert) Fox, Veronica (Stanley) Wiewiora, Rosanna (Gary) Mackeller and Anthony Scott; her grandchildren, Casey Sowa, Branden (Danielle) Sowa, Timothy Holmes, Kevin Holmes, Paige Batka, Nicholas Wiewiora, Joseph Scott, Chloe Scott and Tylar Rooney; great-grandchildren, Ava Sowa, Elise Sowa, Liam Rooney and John Rooney.

Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Alice Falk; and her brothers, Peter, Andrew, Stephen, Raymond “Ben” and Joseph G. “Mike” Eilers. Visitation is Thursday, May 3rd from 10 am until the Funeral Mass at 11 am at St. John’s Catholic Church in Claybanks Township with Father Peter Omogo officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
