Bernard J. Grant, born January 27, 1947, in Washington, DC to the late Wilbert and Evelyn Grant. He departed this life on May 12, 2019, at Washington Hospital Center. He was educated within the DC Public School system and graduated from Cardozo High School in 1966.

Bernard received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Federal City College in 1973; and was a DC Metro Transit System retiree, receiving multiple safety commendations throughout his tenure. Those who knew him knew Bernard was an avid walker and traveler. He lived his best life, frequently visiting Massanutten, Myrtle Beach, and popular festivals such as Hampton Jazz and Essence; as well his most favored spot in the “DR”, Punta Cana (at LEAST every three months).

He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother, Glenn Grant. Bernard leaves two nieces, five nephews, a special friend, Aaronyce Trimble, and a host of other relatives and friends to cherish his memories. The final farewells will held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Cedar Hill Funeral Home – 4111 Pennsylvania Ave, Suitland, MD 20746.
