Obituary for Bernard John Vargo Bluefield, WV- Bernard John Vargo, 84, of Bluefield, WV, died Saturday December 8, 2018 at Loving Hands Adult Care in Bluefield. Born October 8, 1934 in McDowell County, WV, he was a son of the late John Vargo and Helen Fodor Vargo. Mr. Vargo was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bluefield and he was a graduate of Gary High School.

He served in the U. S. Army from 1956 – 1958 and retired from Coppinger Machinery. He was an avid baseball fan. Survivors include one brother, James Vargo of Salem, SC; two sisters, Irene Webb of Norfolk, VA and Marie Toms of Silver Springs, MD; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends and caregivers, Jody and Sandy Cassidy of Bluefield, WV; and the staff of Loving Hands Adult Care who provided him with such special care.

The family will received friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Friday December 14, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:45. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday December 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Father Sebastian Devasya officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV, where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
