OBITUARY Bernard Lee Manuel August 11, 1958 – September 13, 2018 Bernard Lee “Ben” Manuel, age 60, of Lake Charles, Louisiana gained his Wings on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Bernard was born August 11, 1958. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany when he met the love of his life, Doris.

After returning to the U.S. with his bride, Ben made a career as a lead technician at Nissan, Toyota, and Firestone Tire and Service of Lake Charles. He loved camping with his grandson, hunting, fishing, working and tinkering on things around the house. When anyone asked Ben how he was feeling, he always replied “With my fingers”.

He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his mother, Emily Boudreaux, and his sister, Sally. Those left behind to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Doris Manuel; daughter, Sabrina Lewis and husband, Wayne; one grandson, Lucas Manuel; father, Elroy Manuel and wife, Adelle; step-father, Kirby Boudreaux; brothers, Randy Manuel, Eddie Manuel and wife, Kathy; Ray Manuel and wife, Tammy; Charles Manuel and wife, Amy, Ronnie Manuel, and Troy Fruge and wife, Scarlet; sisters, Tina Schiele, Becky Lewis and husband, Joseph, Shonda Cormier and husband, Brandon; two sisters-in-law, Petra Neurohr and Helga Mischler and husband, Jochen; a brother-in-law, Matthias Negle and wife, Claudia; two step sisters, Denise Byler, Missy LaBauve and husband, Kevin; step-brother, John Johnson and wife, Brandi; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 4pm to 9pm with a rosary at 6pm. Visitation will resume 9 – 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2018 at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff.
