Berneice’s Obituary Berneice J. Gay, 80, of Bad Axe, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2019 at Meadow Lane Assisted Living under hospice care. She was born on November 28, 1938 to the late Joseph and Blanche (Devine) Klee. On April 30, 1950, she married the love of her life, Kenneth J. Gay at St. Felix Catholic Church near Pinnebog.

He preceded her in death on March 8, 2013. Berneice was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church/St. Hubert Parish in Bad Axe. She played golf at Verona Hills.

Berneice worked in sales at Sageman Jewelry for many years and at Stein Walker. She also enjoyed playing cards, baking, canning, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Berneice is survived by her son: Greg Gay of Lake Ann, Michigan; her daughters: Lori Stone and her husband, Randy, of Caseville and Shelly Gay (special friend, Steven Weiler) of Fort Mill, South Carolina; her grandchildren: Shannon Stone, Caitlin (Shawn) Webber, Randilyn Stone, Nicholas and Kelsey Gay, and Maizie Bleu Rigsby; great-grandchildren: Leila, Hunter, Hailey, and Cecilia.

She is also survived by her siblings: Edward (Sandy) Klee, Bobby (Ann) Klee, Charles (Dawn) Klee, Bernie (Gigi) Klee, Midge Ritter, Elaine Ritter, Debbie (Don) Hewitt, Marge (Phil) Maurer, Karen Oswald (significant other, Mike Ruth), Sharon (Mike) Loudin, Linda (Bob) Parrish, Lorraine (Virgil) Jaskowski; sisters-in-law, Roxanne Klee, Rosalie Reynaert and Billiette Klee; brother-in-law, Robert Grigg and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Gay; her brothers, Francis and Joseph Klee; her sister, Eve Grigg; and her in-laws, Rudy Kosinski, Jim Ritter and Beverly and Nancy Klee. Per Berneice’s wishes, cremation will take place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City.

A Memorial mass will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe with Fr. Rob Howe officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2018 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
