Jackson, 60, Altoona, WI formerly of Lower Brule, SD will be Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 10:30 am at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule with burial in the Lakeview Cemetery at Lower Brule, SD. Wake services will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD. Bernice Faith was born February 15, 1959 at Chamberlain, SD to Melvin and Maggie (Lever) Bad Horse.

She received her GED and then attended Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute where she majored in Electronics. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked in Montana and also throughout Wisconsin. Bernice passed away on May 9, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, WI at the age of 60 years.

Gratefully sharing her life are her longtime friend Kenneth Jackson; children Blossom Old Bull, Berwin Bad Horse, Kendall (Erica) Bad Horse, and Kenyon (Crystal) Bad Horse; siblings Clyde Sawalla, Emmett Sawalla, Barbara Bad Horse, Jennifer Bad Horse, Vivian Sawalla, and Vera Sawalla; grandchildren: Kayla (Jeremy) Roth, Gavin (Tommijo) Old Bull, Marissa (Dakota) Roth, Keenan Roth, Scott Old Bull, Chasity Roth, Jolee Old Bull, Dion Rutcosky, Daymond Bad Horse, Emilio Old Bull, Dominic Reyes, Jalyn Bad Horse, Braven Glenn, Jolene (Roger) Glenn, Devin Bad Horse, Baby Estes, Carmoni Bad Horse; great-grandchildren: Elkenah Crazymule, Norah Old Bull, Baby Old Bull; nephews: Jasper Eagle Star, Basil Eagle Star, Cameron Walks, Delbert Walks, Emeryl Red Wolf, Bryon Walks, Randall Walks, Gerald Red Wolf, Trevor Red Wolf, Josiah Estes, Anthony Bad Horse, Cameron La Roche; nieces: Lila Bad Horse, Sheritha Bad Horse, Monique Bad Horse, Ashley Estes, Nancy Eagle Star, Dulcy Eagle Star, Margret Eagle Star, Rena Jamerson, Lynette La Roche, and Maggie May Bad Horse. Preceding her in death were her parents; grandparents Ernest and Emma Bad Horse; sisters: Pansy Sawalla, Velma Bad Horse, Rena Bad Horse; brothers: Larry Eagle Star, Lester Eagle Star, Jasper Eagle Star; nephews: Gilbert Quincy Walks II and Baby Tim Washington; nieces: Gayla Bad Horse and Shelly High Elk. We also want to acknowledge all extending family.
