Bernice McClain, of Dover, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, November 12, 2018, in Capitol Nursing Home. She was 85. She was born November 24, 1932, in Smyrna, DE to the late, John Jones & Lily Mae Little Jones.

She held various jobs throughout her career, doing factory work, working on Dover Air Force Base, and most notably working as a cook and housekeeper in the Governors Mansion for the State of Delaware. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Frank Jones McClain & David McClain. Bernice is survived by 3 sons, Thomas McClain & wife, Barbara , of Dover; Danny McClain, of New Castle; and Norman McClain, of Virginia; and several grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, November 20, 2018, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave. , Wyoming, DE; where family and friends may view from 10am- 12 noon. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover .
