Bertha Beatrice Grigsby Moore 1920-2018 Bertha Beatrice Grigsby Moore, longtime Fayette and Howard County resident, passed away October 15, 2018 at the Fayette Caring Center. She was 98 years old. Betha was born April 1, 1920 in Higbee, Missouri a daughter of John Morgan and Louisa Shipley Huston.

She was first married to Herman Moss Grigsby on May 28, 1937 and they were the parents of four sons, John, Albert, Harvey and Walter. Herman preceded her in death and she later married Cedric Moore on October 9, 1973. Cedric also preceded her in death.

Bertha was a member of the Fayette First Christian Church and prior to retirement was employed at local nursing homes including Maple Lawn Nursing Home. She enjoyed playing cards and taking part in activities at the Fayette Senior Center. Survivors include two sons, John Grigsby of Fayette and Albert Grigsby of Olathe, Kansas; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, Harvey Franklin Grigsby and Walter Joe Grigsby and by six brothers and two sisters. Funeral services honoring Bertha will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Higbee Cemetery in Higbee, Missouri. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Fayette Senior Center. Tributes and condolences may be shared at www.
