Bertha’s Obituary Bertha Rose Proctor Nutter, 84, of Ironton, Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Harbor Health Care Center, Ironton, Ohio. Mrs. Nutter was born December 11, 1934, in Kanawha County, West Virginia, a daughter to the late Mawry Proctor and Julia White Barton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James R. Nutter, whom she married September 9, 1955.

Mrs. Nutter was a graduate of Sherman High School and Charleston School of Nursing, where she received her Registered Nurse Degree. She was a retired Director of Nursing for Jo-Linn’s Nursing Home for 18 years. She was also a member of Grace Bible Church in Ironton, she was very strong in faith and was a Missionary in West Africa.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son-in-law: Rodney Dunn; daughter-in-law: Tammy Nutter; sister: Virginia Marte and brother-in-law: Fred Marte She is survived by two daughters: Kenna Nutter of Scott Depot, WV and Jana Dunn of Parker City, IN; three sons: Timothy (Linda) Nutter of Woodstock, GA, James D. (Carolyn) Nutter of Cincinnati, OH and Steve Nutter of Coal Grove, OH; brother: John (Lynn) Barton of Charlottsville, VA Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South 6th Street, Ironton, Ohio with Dr.Kevin Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
