OBITUARY Bertha Sampson April 19, 1931 – December 8, 2018 Bertha (Turner) Garris Sampson was born April 19, 1931 in Chesterfield, South Carolina to parents Allen and Annie (Boatwright) Turner and entered eternal rest on December 8, 2018 at the age of 87. Bertha was a tough but laid back, easy going individual. She was a self employed/ sub-contract seamstress all her life.

Bertha worked on cheerleader uniforms among other items for the Dallas Cowboys, probably one of the reasons she loved football and especially The Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and family get togethers. She was an amazing woman and will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.

Bertha was preceded in death by her first husband Carlie Garris, second husband Leonard Sampson and son Billy Garris. She is survived by sons: Jerry Garris, Jackie Garris, and Johnny Garris and wife Dawn all of Trinidad, daughter Janice Dorton of Dallas, step son David Sampson, 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren, other loving family members and many more friends. All three sons served our country in the military.
