Nicholas, 75, of Hazleton, died Wednesday at Mountain City Nursing and rehabilitation Center Born in Hazleton, January 7, 1944, she was a daughter of the late William and Norene (Albeck) Rau. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her time in the Red Hat Society and was an active member of the Diamond Methodist Church holding many positions within the church.

Betty was a loving wife to her husband, Richard of 50 years; Saturday May 4th would have been their 51st Wedding Anniversary. Preceding her in death are her parents. Surviving are her husband of 50 years Richard; Sons Scott and his wife Alyce; Greg and his wife Bonny; grandchildren Nickolene and her husband Manuel; Scott and his fiancé Kayla; Gabriel, Vanessa, Michael, Andrea, Michael, Carmen and Lance; great grandchildren Manuel Jr., Luna, Emilia and Aiden.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 5 at 11:30 AM at the Hazle Chapel of Krapf and Hughes Funeral Home, 426 West Broad S. Hazleton, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, May 5 from 10:00 AM until time of service. Krapf and Hughes Funeral Home, Inc. is assisting the family through their Hazle Chapel in Hazleton.
