Betty’s Obituary Betty Sue Flemings Bowman, 58, of Indianola, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson. She was born September 17, 1960 in Indianola to Melvin Arnold Flemings and Minnie Frances Barnett Flemings. Betty was known for her caring nature and always putting others first.

She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Betty will always be remembered for her tacos. She always kept everyone in line.

Betty was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Belzoni. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Flemings, Sr. and her nephew, LeeLee Whitaker. Betty is survived by her mother, Frances Flemings of Isola; four children, Sonua Williams of Indianola, Donna Nicole Manseill and her boyfriend Andrease of Greenwood, Marie Ramage and her husband Jerry of Indianola, and Duke Manseill of Greenwood; four brothers, Melvin Flemings, Jr. of Bono, Arkansas, Buddy Flemings and his husband John of San Bernardino, California, Garry Flemings and his wife Rose Marie of Isola, and Peewee Flemings of Benoit; two sisters, Tonua Flemings of Greenville, and Robin Flemings of Isola; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 pm. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
