Betty Jane Margetic Pulaski Township Betty Jane Margetic, 79, of Pulaski Twp. , passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born August 3, 1939, in Pulaski Twp.

, Pa. , a daughter of the late David H. (Abe) and Dorothy (Ball) Majors. Betty was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who would help anyone in need and volunteered most of her life.

She was married at seventeen and her husband was twenty. She had her first son when she was eighteen and then proceeded to have four more children over the next thirteen years, but that never stopped her from having a life full of volunteering for many organizations. She also went back to school and obtained her GED in 1980.

Betty was the New Brighton PTA President in 1974-75, a Rochester Mental Health Volunteer for 5 years in the Friendship Room, Regent for Catholic Daughters of America 1695, and Butler VA Hospital Volunteer holding bingo and picnics. She was in the New Brighton American Legion for 20 years and secretary for 20 years for the Veterans Service Board in New Brighton, Pulaski Township Auditor for 6 years, the first female firefighter in Beaver County and was a member of the Pulaski Township Volunteer Fire Department serving as treasurer for 27 years and managing the Pulaski Fire Department Bingo for 30 years. She went to Beaver County Fire School in North Sewickley for 5 years.

She was the Pulaski Township Tax Collector for 8 years, Betty also was Judge of Elections in Pulaski Township for many years. She is a member of Holy Family Parish, New Brighton, Pa. Betty had many special friends (Lola, Sis, Pat, Peggy, Belle, Linda, and Mabel) to name a few, that she liked to go on trips with or she would get them involved in helping her with all of her volunteering projects.

Surviving are three sons, Doug (Sherri) Margetic, Larry Margetic, and Kevin Margetic, all of Pulaski Township; two daughters, Teresa Engle, Pulaski Township, and Joanne (Ted) Smakosz, Fallston; grandchildren, Rick Engle, David (Stacie) Engle, Jacob (Heather) Smakosz, Emily (Matt) Grove, Veronica (Elliot), Amber (Derek) and Aleesha (Devin) Margetic; two great-grandchildren; Brayden and Peyton Engle; one great-grandson due November 5; one sister, Judy (Ronald) West, Pulaski Twp. ; two brothers, Ronald Majors, Pulaski Twp. , and Donald (Carol) Majors, Beaver, Pa.

; and several nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James C. Majors, and her husband Arthur D. Margetic. In lieu of flowers and per Betty’s request, please make donations to the Church of the Nazarene, 423 Penn Ave.
