Betty Jane Nelson Byerley, age 94 of Lake City, Florida, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019 in Lake City Medical Center of Florida. Betty was born on June 17, 1924 in Calhoun, GA to the late Charles Pruitt Nelson and Georgie Madura Thomas Nelson. In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Byerley.

Betty was an educator for the Calhoun City School System and the Lake City School System. She was a former member of Calhoun First Baptist Church. Betty is survived by her two sons, Gary Byerley and Alan Byerley both of Lake City, FL.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, February 12th at 11 AM in Fain Cemetery with Dr. John Bledsoe in charge of graveside rites.
