Mrs. Betty Jane Barton, age 83, of Murray, Kentucky died Monday, May 13, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Barton was born on August 25, 1935 in Paragould, Arkansas to the late Henry Lentz and Vera Walden Lentz. She retired as a secretary for Murray State University.

Mrs. Barton received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Murray State University and was a member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ in Murray, Kentucky. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, R.B. Barton Jr.; one sister, Amogia Lentz; as well as one brother, Robert E. Lentz. Survivors include one daughter, Britannie Barton Scarbrough and husband Jason of Buchanan, Tennessee; one son, Reagan Brooks Barton of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Margie Lentz of Little Rock, Arkansas; as well as four grandchildren, Jacob Barton Scarbrough of Buchanan, Tennessee, Alexander (Alex) Brooks Scarbrough of Buchanan, Tennessee, Benjamin (Ben) Arlton Scarbrough of Buchanan, Tennessee and Jenna Briann Scarbrough of Buchanan, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with John Dale and Russ Crosswhite will officiate. Burial will follow at the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
