Betty Jean Siver, 79, passed from this life to the next on Sunday, March 3, 2019 in Ranger. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 2PM at the Eastside Church of Christ in Ranger. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home Ranger.

Betty Jean Smith was born on November 13, 1939 in Turon, Kansas to Albert Smith and Roberta Gabriel Smith. She married Richard Siver Sr. on November 25, 1956 in Hutchison, Kansas, and he preceded her in death on March 11, 2008. Mrs. Siver came to Ranger in 2005 from Scotts City, Kansas.

She was active in the community serving on the Ranger Task Force, Chamber of Commerce, assisted with Roaring Ranger Days, and she was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ. Mrs. Siver enjoyed, reading, traveling by RV, and her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Michael Siver and wife, Lynette of Fort Worth; daughter, Terri Mine and husband, Joe of Emporia, KS; sister, Mildred Ince of Fordland, MO; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Siver was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Richard Siver Jr.; brothers, David and Larry Smith; and sisters, Carol Mitchell and Nancy Trentman. Online condolences can be made at www. edwards-funeral-homes.com.
