Obituary for Betty Jean Wright Betty Jean Wright, 91, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at Pratt Health and Rehab. She was born August 19, 1927 in La Junta, Colorado, the daughter of Wesley and Mary (Fontecchio) Seal. On June 23, 1945, she married Alvin “Al” Wright in La Junta.

He preceded her in death on August 28, 1998. She was a Pratt resident since 1953, moving from La Junta. She worked as a bookkeeper at Gamble’s Store, which she co owned with Al from 1953 to 1972.

She then worked at JCPenney as a bookkeeper until she became the co-owner/operator of Wright’s Liquor Store in Pratt, retiring in 1992. Betty was a member of the First Christian Church, The Elks Lodge and the Park Hills Country Club, all of Pratt. She enjoyed exercising at Blythe, crocheting and reading.

She is survived by her sons, Steve Wright of Pratt and Gary (Barbara) Wright of Elkhart, Indiana; brother, Orlaff (Rosie) Seal of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Cory (Dana) Wright, Stacy (Mark) Matyanowski, Craig (Jamie) Wright and Kevin (Stephanie) Wright; and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Al and her parents. Cremation has taken place.

Friends may sign the book Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2018 at Larrison Mortuary with John Hamm presiding. A private family inurnment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.

Memorials may be made to Interim Hospice or Lemon Park Lights in care of Larrison Mortuary.
