PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR UPDATED MEMORIAL SERVICE TIME AND DATE. THANK YOU. Betty L. Walker, of Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, Indiana passed away at Grace Village Health Care at 8:52 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the age of 87.

She was born on April 25, 1931 in Knoxville, Tennessee to B. Iradel Hutchison and Lizze Belle (Albright) Hutchison. In 1949 she was married to Charles Ray Sturgill, he passed away in 1999. In June 2002 Betty re-married to Pastor Richard Dale Walker, he passed away on March 31, 2006.

Betty moved to the area in 1998 and was a proud pastor’s wife and served the Lord alongside her husband doing missionary work in Peru, South America, France and Guatemala. She was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church and will be dearly missed by her church family and most of all she will be lovingly remembered by her family. She is survived by her two daughters: Lee Ann Taylor (Warsaw, Indiana); Lenise (Jonathan) Walter (Warsaw, Indiana); two sons: Larry Sturgill (Ohio); Lance Sturgill (Ohio); six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers, one sister and her son-in-law, Donald Taylor. A memorial concert in Betty’s honor will be conducted at a later date at Grace Village Retirement Community, 337 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, Indiana and held in the Grace Village Chapel. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw.

Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. Memorial donations in Betty’s memory may be directed to NEB (a non-profit mentoring program for couples), 1623 Fisher Avenue, Warsaw, Indiana 46580 and would be appreciated by the family.
