OBITUARY Betty Latiolais Breaux January 2, 1947 – September 20, 2018 CATAHOULA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Betty Latiolais Breaux at 1:00 pm Monday, September 24, 2018 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Fr. Keith Landry will be the Celebrant.

Mrs. Breaux will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula following the mass. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday September 24 at the Dion Hall from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm with the Holy Rosary being recited during the visiting hours. Betty was born January 2, 1947 in New Iberia at the old Dauterive Hospital to the late Mervyn Latiolais and the late Esther Theriot Latiolais.

She was raised and lived her entire life in Catahoula. She met and married Roland Joseph Breaux, and they shared 52 blessed years of marriage. Some of her favorite pastimes included tending to her flower garden, and sewing.

She was a very talented seamstress and made blankets, bibs, and other handcrafted items for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shopping was also something she enjoyed and was always ready to go when called for a trip to the stores. Above all else, her greatest love and passion was for her family.

She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spoiling them with love and gifts. Her beautiful smile and warm heart will be forever remembered as she leaves a legacy of love with all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her husband and best friend of 52 years, Roland J. “Ro” Breaux; her three children, Tiffany Theriot, Chad Breaux and wife Niki, and Michael Breaux and wife Athena; her grandchildren, Lacy Theriot, Lexie Theriot, Loren Breaux, Abigail Breaux and Isabella “Foxy” Breaux; her great grandchildren, Makayla Theriot, Kammie Prados, Aurolie Theriot, Jaxson Broussard and one expected in January; and her only sister Lora L. Citty and husband Brent.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Louis “Bubba” Theriot, and her beloved cat, Fancy. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Chad and Michael Breaux, Brent Citty, Charlie Sonnier, Lindsay Citty and Oran Theriot. Honorary pallbearers are Barbara Lasseigne (her lifelong friend), Nancy Theriot, Rita Frederick, Judy Blanchard, and Blake Citty.
