Betty Moore, 87, of Texarkana, TX, formerly of Magnolia, AR, died Saturday, April 28, 2019 at the CHI St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, TX. Betty was born December 16, 1931 in Picher, OK and was the oldest of ten children. She was a former bank teller for Farmers Bank and Trust and was a longtime faithful member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Magnolia.

She enjoyed reading, singing and led a seniors aerobic swim class well up into her early 80’s. She was preceded in death by her parents Loyal and Lucille (Wescott) Thomas, husband B.G. “Bill” Moore, Jr., two brothers Kenneth Thomas and Butch Thomas, two sisters Clara Wallace and Wanda Scribner. She is survived by her daughter Marion Murphy of Ashdown; son Rickey Moore and wife Nancy of Hot Springs Village; grandchildren David Murphy, Miranda and Luke Knudson of Ashdown, Joshua and Melody Moore of Denver, CO, and Cathy an Justin Pierce of Hot Springs; great grandchildren Anthony and Ryley Knudson of Ashdown and Matthew and Joseph Moore of Denver; siblings Mickey and Colleen Thomas of Whitmore, CA, Harry Thomas and Alan and Cindy Thomas of Grass Valley, CA, Bob and Diane Thomas of Rathdrum, ID, and Violet and Ed Lamoine of Pueblo, CO; a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2 from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia with a graveside service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Rickey Moore officiating. The family requests memorial donations are sent to the United Methodist Church, 145 East Commerce St., Ashdown, AR 71822 or to All Saints Anglican Church, 3 Jardinero Dr., Hot Springs Village, AR 71909.
