Betty Rae (Neal) Anderson, resident of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019. She was 84 years old. Betty was born in Le Flore County, OK on April 11, 1935 to Melvin C. Neal and Barbara (Cole) Neal.

When Betty was born, her mom had a rough time and the doctor just took the baby and laid her to the side and was working on grandma. The baby was Betty and she was blue and not breathing. Aunt Lydia grabbed the baby and took her by the fireplace and started rubbing on her until she started to breath and cry.

Aunt Lydia saved her life. Mama always believed that. Betty was a sickly child but still worked on the farm helping her parents and picking cotton.

She was a good student and had art talent. She loved music and said her mama taught her cords on the piano before church. Later she taught herself the guitar.

Music was her love when she was young and that never changed. Betty graduated from Bokoshe High School in Bokoshe Oklahoma in 1953. She worked and retired from the Department of Human Services in Midwest City Oklahoma.

She is survived by her husband Michael Anderson of the home. Her children with her second husband Charles Underwood: Jimmie Underwood and his wife Lisa of Newalla Oklahoma. Dianne Underwood of Choctaw Oklahoma.
