Obituary for Betty W Davis Davis, Betty Waring 93, went home to be with her Lord on April 6. Born in West Point, Virginia to the late William G. and Jessie L. Waring. While raising her children, Betty enjoyed sewing, oil painting and playing bridge.

Betty and her late husband, W. H. “Buck” Davis, owned an art gallery and custom frame shop in Richmond, VA for 25 years. They also enjoyed photography, digging for gemstones, making jewelry and camping in the Shenandoah Valley. Betty relocated to St. Petersburg, FL in 1987 where she became a fan of Tampa Bay Rays’ baseball.

She was involved in many activities; bowling, bingo, making greeting cards, scrapbooking, crocheting hats for newborns, beading and riding her tricycle. With her wonderful sense of humor she loved to make people laugh. Betty is survived by daughters, Lesley (Robert) Ortiz, Nancy Davis, Catherine (John) Belcher; grandchildren, Wendy Hauman, Mark (Grace) Bolls, David Bolls, William (Julie Weaver) Bagwell, Wright (Ami Huggett) Bagwell, Lindsey (Jeffrey) Mahland, Neil (Melissa) Belcher and nine great-grandchildren.

Betty is also survived by brothers, Robert L. and Marshall L. Waring, loving nieces and nephew, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Burnet L. Waring. Funeral services will be held in West Point, VA on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 1:00 PM.
